Oct 26, 2013 · The RT-N16 runs on 12VDC. As this is a 12V filter circuit, minimum acceptable capacitor voltage is 16V. Most electrical engineers agree it's best practice to assume double voltage when selecting electrolytic caps. So, 12*2=24V rating minimum. Asus was cutting corners here to keep production cost low.
